With the many technological advances in today’s fast-paced world, all of this time spent sending and receiving texts and emails comes at a price. In this case, it’s a painful phenomenon, mainly affecting the neck and shoulders, which has become known as tech neck.
In addition to neck pain from texting on a cell phone, the other tell-tale sign of tech neck is shoulder pain. Because phones are small, many people end up hunching their shoulders in order to hold the phone in one hand while texting with the other.
Headaches can be common either from tilting the head down to read the display on cell phones or from having the head too far forward over the shoulders while reading a computer monitor. Both of these positions will leave the head over-balanced, which may trigger headaches.
In this workshop we will dedicate two hours using therapy balls and targeted stretching to undue the repercussions of our posture in this technological world. We will combine rolling everything from the temples to the low ribs with stretching to enhance the benefits of this pain-relieving practice. You will leave feeling free from pain, tightness and immobility. What you do with it, is entirely up to you.
All levels welcome!.
