NEW TO THE AERIAL YOGA PROGRAM:
AERIAL YOGA 101: JUST THE BASICS (MONTHLY)
Ready to get airborne? Aerial Yoga 101 offers those new to aerial to get their feet off the ground and become familiar with the aerial silk. This unique style of yoga, you’ll explore some familiar shapes and postures in new planes helping you bend a bit deeper and invert with ease. After a centering warm up, you’ll move through poses that will build upper body & core strength, You’ll cool down with some restorative stretches and perhaps one of the most blissful savasanas floating in the silk.
Recommended For: Those new to aerial, who feel comfortable being off the ground and ready to try inverting.
AERIAL FLOW YOGA
Aerial Flow Yoga integrates the aerial hammock with a traditional yoga Flow class. Experience the familiarity of purposeful, breathe-guided movements, attention to alignment & engagement, and focusing of mind. The aerial hammock is used as a prop to support standing and balancing poses, develop core strength, and to relax into backbends with much more ease. This slower-paced class is ideal for yoga practitioners who are looking to supplement their mat practice through exploration of sometimes challenging poses like dancer and inversions with the aid of a fun prop as well as for students who want to begin to become more comfortable in the aerial silk and build strength for other aerial classes. Please plan to bring a yoga mat to this class.
Recommended For: New to aerial but would prefer to stay in contact with the ground and aerial yoga students who want to build strength required for more intermediate poses.
RESTORATIVE AERIAL YOGA
This is our gentle and therapeutic version of aerial yoga. The extra support of a silk hammock allow the body to completely soften, surrender and invert effortlessly. Like classical restorative yoga, this class balances the elements of a slow-paced flow, breath work, and powerful guided meditation. However, a levitated yoga practice reaches muscle groups that cannot be accessed on the mat, providing a deeper dimension into organic exploration in each pose and enhances stretches and twists.
Students will enjoy a tranquil candle-lit, mantra-infused practice, grounding their energy while off of the ground. You'll explore how to remain in a meditative mindset while in motion. Students will finish their practice with a serene savasana, floating peacefully inside of a silk cocoon.
Recommended For: Comfortable with being off the ground, but wants a mellow aerial yoga experience
